Romantic garden in Dubai

Dubai Miracle Garden: A Visitors Guide to World’s Largest Natural Flower Garden
http://amazing9world.blogspot.in/

Developers in Dubai have done what many said was impossible, and have created a natural, majestic garden in the middle of the desert. The Dubai Miracle Garden was built and cultivated in Al Barsha South in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is home to more than 45 million flowers. The entire garden takes up 72,000 square meters and is being hailed as the largest and most beautiful natural flower garden in the entire world.

What makes this garden unique is, quite simply, its location. Flowers bloom in flower beds and both vertically and horizontally on raised, shaped arches in an arid desert, where no flowers should be able to bloom. Many of the flowers featured in the garden have never before been planted in the region. A wall of flowers is also vying for a spot in the Guinness World Record book as the largest ever created.
Dubai is always on the cutting edge of development, as it is already home to the world’s tallest skyscraper, the world’s tallest hotel, and an entire, desert-bound skiing area complete with real snow. It remains on the cusp of the future in the world of outdoor gardening, as well, since there are no other natural gardens of this size and stature known in any other desert landscape.

The garden was developed by Abdel Naser Y. Rahal of Akar, a landscaper who said he hopes the simple existence of the Dubai Miracle Garden will show that the techniques of drip irrigation and re-use of unneeded waste water are powerful tools in agricultural uses. Water use is minimal, and comes from the city’s main water supply. The developer said he hopes to change out the floral designs with each passing season so repeat visitors will have something new to see every time.
Visitors were welcomed at the Dubai Miracle Garden, which opened on Feb. 14, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to Midnight on both weekends and holidays. It will be open from October through late May. Visitors ages 3 and up will pay 20DH (4.17 Euro) for entry. There are more than four kilometers of pathways, with golf cart access available

While the garden is already spectacular, it is incomplete. Plans are in the works to add an entire shopping center, several restaurants, and nurseries where visitors can see and purchase plants on the site.
I recently visited the newly opened Dubai Miracle Garden in Dubailand, not too far from the Arabian Ranches and Motorcity. It’s a bit surreal and, quite frankly, garish, but pleasant to visit all the same.
It’s not quite a park, but as the name more than suggests, more of a garden with millions and millions of bright flowers, some in arches you can walk under, some form the hedges round the edges (see, I can rhyme already), and some are in topiary- like designs like the large duck in the main picture above. Rather random.
